Fall

Fall in Houston, Indiana is breathtaking! I was rescued in this charming town in October 2014. Check out the Houston Fall Festival.  Proceeds from this fun autumn fundraiser  go to preserving the Houston, Indiana Schoolhouse.  My namesake, Oscar Roddey, loved this place.  He went to the school early on winter mornings to make sure the wood stove was working and the building was warm when the kids arrived.  He passed away in 1964 and is resting in the cemetery adjoining the school. He would be so happy to know the 1910 school building is still operational for social functions in Houston. My primary caretaker, my Aunt Glenda Sue, set up and is in charge of the digital presence.
